Will Takeaway Pints Be Banned After Social Media Outrage Over Outdoor Drinking?

Over the weekend large gatherings of people were recorded drinking on the streets of Dublin city Centre causing outrage on social media. As a result, the government is now taking steps to ban the sale of takeaway alcohol from pubs. Many people online have said that this kind of behaviour is "selfish" and disrespectful to those affected by Covid-19. However, others have felt that people are simply fed up with level 5 restrictions and need to socialise. Matt was joined by Fine Gael Senator Mary Seery Kearney who said the videos show a clear violation of the restrictions.  He also spoke to Journalist Larissa Nolan who feels there is not enough footage to prove what happened and we cannot be relying on "surveillance society".  You can catch the full chat by hitting the play button below.  Later in the show Matt also spoke to professor of medicine and infectious diseases Jack Lambert on his reaction to the footage taken over the weekend.
