The government is being urged to introduce a number of environmental taxes in next week's budget. Among these is the introduction of a tax on flights to tackle the problem of climate change. Eamon Murphy, Economic and Social Analyst with Social Justice Ireland, says the group is proposing a "small commercial airline tax" for each passenger leaving Irish airports, "to ensure that the cost of air travel reflects the overall cost to society".
