When Can We Expect Our First Vaccinations And Who Will Get Them?

The UK has become the first country in the world to approve the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine. The vaccine will be rolled out from next week, with 40 million doses due by the spring. Frontline workers, care home residents and the elderly are expected to be the first to get it. Ireland and other EU member states are still waiting for approval from the European Medicines Agency. Belfast-based journalist Amanda Ferguson, Priscilla Lynch, clinical editor of the Medical Independent, and Monaghan GP Dr Ilona Duffy joined us to discuss the likely timeline for approval in Ireland and who will be prioritised for vaccination.
