What Will New Remote Working Laws Mean For You?

New laws have been announced which will make working from home a permanent option for those who want it. The Remote Work Strategy will give employees a legal right to ask to work remotely. They will also be entitled to take a case to the Workplace Relations Commission if the request is refused by their employer and they are unhappy with the reasons given. What exactly will these laws mean and will we see more people working from home post-pandemic? We discussed this with Maeve McElwee, Director of Employer Relations with Ibec, and Denis Naughten, Independent TD for Roscommon/Galway and Chair of the Oireachtas Committee on Social Protection, Community and Rural Development and the Islands.
