 The State spent an eyewatering €17.1 billion in response to Covid-19 during the first year of the pandemic up to the end of February 2021, according to the annual report from the State’s spending watchdog, the Comptroller and Auditor General. After a year like no other, Budget 2022 is set to be one of the toughest yet. What lies in store?
