Have you ever signed one of those visitor books when you are away on your holidays, or visiting a heritage site? Well it seems that the Office of Public Works has decided that those little books where you stick in your name and maybe where you are from, have to go. Since the beginning of the new tourist season in places like Kilmainham Gaol and Muckross House vistos books have been removed over GDPR concerns as patrons were allegedly caught snapping photos of the signatures in the books in some sites. Well joining Ivan to discuss this is was a member of the visitors committee of Kilmainham Gaol: Joe Costello, the Labour councillor on Dublin City Council and party spokesperson on urban regeneration, as well as Hugh Jones, Chief privacy officer with Sytorus, a firm that provides data protection training.
