Minister Damien English has been criticised for saying that "clothes are not essential" during an appearance on Prime Time last night. He insisted that the essential and non-essential retail list was not confusing, despite presenter Miriam O'Callaghan pointing out that she could buy a bottle of wine, but not a pair of socks for her son.
