"Tsunami of cases in Lifford/Strabane area will result in deaths"

Cases of Covid-19 are continuing to rise in the border areas of Lifford and Strabane. The Lifford-Stranorlar electoral area in Co Donegal has by far the highest incidence rate in the country with over 600 cases per 100,000 people there. While the Derry and Strabane Council area across the border in the North now has the highest incidence rate in the UK. There has been 87 cases in the Lifford area alone recorded in three weeks, while there was over 500 cases in the Derry/Strabane council area over the weekend.
