Minister for Justice Helen McEntee has brought a memo to cabinet to address a ban on naming a child murder victim once someone has been charged with the offence. The Court of Appeal ruled last October that the Childrens Act 2001, preventing the identification of a child where someone is charged with an offence against them, did not exclude the deceased child.
