Up to thirty children in emergency direct provision in Carrickmacross not attending school

Newstalk has learnt that over twenty children living in emergency direct provision accommodation here have not been attending school. Over twenty children who are living in the M Hotel, formerly known as Treacys Hotel in Carrickmacross, have had no access to education for over two months. This is a breach of EU law; EU directive on reception conditions for asylum seekers states that all children in direct provision should be granted access to the education system, whether this be in local schools or in the accommodation centres themselves.
