Taoiseach Still Awaiting Invite For St Patrick's Day US Trip

Taoiseach Micheál Martin says he has not yet received an invite to the United States for St Patrick's Day. Finance Minister Paschal Donohoe recently told The Last Word that he hoped the Taoiseach would accept an invite from President Joe Biden if it was extended. Addressing the issue on the programme, Micheál Martin did not rule out travelling to the US, adding that COVID-19 guidelines would have to be followed. He said that both administrations would "find a way to mark St Patrick's Day". He also discussed issues such as vaccination, quarantine and the government's Shared Island initiative.
