Survey Finds That More Than One Third Of Second Class Pupils Have A Mobile Phone

Survey Finds That More Than One Third Of Second Class Pupils Have A Mobile Phone Children’s School Lives, a landmark study following 4,000 children across almost 200 schools has found that one-third of second-class pupils had a mobile phone. The impact of digital technology was noted as a concern in terms of the impact of extensive screen time on learning and safety.   When asked about their home lives, two-thirds of second-class pupils reported that they were ‘never’ or rarely read to. A similar proportion reported never or rarely practicing counting at home.   Andrea asked this afternoon ''what is an appropriate age to give a child a smartphone?'', ''what age is too young?''. Andrea spoke to a number of parents on the programme that were for and against children being allowed to use smartphones.  (Photo - credit - Pixabay).
