The company was founded by Ciara Donlon, who is an award winning social entrepreneur with over 20 years’ experience in management and marketing. In 2010, Ciara embarked on her entrepreneurial journey by opening her first business. Before THEYA Healthcare was born, Donlon enjoyed success with a lingerie retail business. It was through this business that she identified the opportunity for THEYA Healthcare. Breast cancer survivors regularly came to the shop looking for post-surgery bras and Donlon saw there was a product missing on the market as she was unable to find a product that really met their needs.
