Students Face "Real Possibility" That Extra College Places Won't Be Available

Students and universities are coming to terms with the news that around 7,200 Leaving Cert grades were affected by errors in the calculated grades system. Minister for Higher Education Simon Harris has said that up to 1,000 extra college places could be needed to accommodate the students affected. But Jim Miley, Director General of the Irish Universities Association, told The Last Word that while everything will be done to help students, there is a "real possibility" that extra college places won't be available. Reuban Murray, President of the Irish Second Level Students Union, also joined us to discuss how students are feeling about the issue.
