Should the State take over the National Broadband Plan roll out?

The Department of Communications is seeking clarification from Eir after its CEO said they could provide the National Broadband Plan for €1 billion. It comes as Siro, another bidder who pulled out of the broadband plan last night told the Oireachtas the company has an uptake rate of 17% in areas that it’s rolled out fiber broadband to. Eoin Reeves, Head of Economics at the University of Limerick joins Newstalk Breakfast.
