Soulé Soulé is one of many amazing Irish acts coming together in support of those who work in the live events industry. View this post on Instagram A little 3ARENA soundcheck throwback !! Before any show we have to run through everything to make sure it sounds right for YOU GUYS❤️ #Soulé A post shared by SOULÉ (@souleofficial) on Feb 23, 2020 at 6:02am PST Laura was in for Sarina on this week's Plan B and spoke to Soulé about the affect the pandemic has had on her life as a music artist. Listen to their chat: [audio mp3="https://media.radiocms.net/uploads/2020/07/18132826/Soule.mp3"][/audio] Soulé shared how she misses performing to a live audience. However, she is grateful to have had extra time to get writing and creating new music again. In terms of future gigs, Soulé dreams of playing Glastonbury one day to show just what musical talent Ireland has to offer. She's also hopeful that through live streams and new ideas the industry will be able to create more opportunities for artists, fans and those working in the industry. Unfortunately, Covid-19 has had a huge impact on the industry, with the cancellation of events leaving many jobless. The Live Events industry is worth €3.5 billion to Ireland each year. However, with current restrictions in place it's uncertain when live events will be able to happen again and many may be forced out of the industry. The live TV broadcast of performances from some of Ireland's top venues will be raising awareness and funds for those affected, with money going to two organisations. Minding Creative Minds is a 24/7, free wellbeing and support programme for event industry professionals and contractors. MCM provides free counselling services, in addition to free financial, legal and career advice for events industry personnel. Association of Irish Stage Technicians (AIST) Hardship Fund is available to members and non-members who work in any crew related role in the Irish live events industry. The fund is managed and distributed by AIST. Songs From An Empty Room will be broadcast live on RTÉ2 & RTÉ 2FM, Saturday July 25, 8.30pm - 10.45pm.
