'It's A Slap In The Face': Frontline Worker Reacts to Golfgate

Parents unable to see their newborn children, those in mourning unable to attend funerals of loved ones, thousands without jobs and countless birthday parties, weddings, communions and confirmations cancelled-Covid 19 has caused havoc and hurt for every citizen in this country and around the world. For that reason, it's not hard to see why people were so devastated and angry over the news that Minister for Agriculture Dara Calleary along with some 80 other people including former Attorney General's and the EU Commissioner attended a golf function during the week. The Minister has since resigned from his role as has Senator Jerry Buttimer , the Leas-Cathaoirleach of the Seanad. Speaking on Dermot and Dave, Aoife Moore who broke the news for the Irish Examiner explained the circumstances surrounding the golf function and we heard from people all around the country from new Mammy's who haven't been able to celebrate their new arrival with their partners to the front line workers who haven't hugged their mothers in 6 months.
