Should the Taoiseach go to the US for St. Patrick's Day?

Debate has continued over whether the Taoiseach should be heading to Washington on St Patrick’s Day this year, due to health concerns with the Covid pandemic. The annual visit by the Taoiseach to the White House to present the US president with a bowl of shamrocks dates back to 1956. Sinn Fein leader Mary Lou McDonald said earlier this week that he shouldn’t go.  Aontu leader Peadar Toibin has also said he should stay in Ireland. Minister for Foreign Affairs Simon Coveney told Newstalk Breakfast that he thinks he should go.  Billy Lawless, former Senator to the Diaspora and Mattie McGrath, Independent TD for Tipperary, joined Kieran on Wednesday's edition of The Hard Shoulder to discuss.
