The Hard Shoulder Highlights
Shane Mullins on the impact driving a car drunk had on his life and how he's turned his life around
Shane Mullins was driving a car drunk in 2005, and he crashed. His friend in the car with him was relatively unhurt, but Shane suffered catastrophic injuries.
He lost an eye, he lost the ability to speak, to walk, to swallow. And he had to re-learn and build back up practically all of his motor skills.
14 years later, he speaks about his journey and his recovery to schools and colleges, in an effort to prevent someone else making the same mistake, and his use of his system called D’Mess that he developed and uses as a coping mechanism.
Shane joined Kieran on and show and told him about the night and you can find out about the D’Mess system - Determination, Motivation, Emotion, Support and Social life on his facebook page, facebook.com/dmessone
