A case in the courts yesterday has opened up a discussion about public responsibility if you are texted or messaged unwanted material. A woman was sentenced to a four month suspended sentence for possessing child abuse material, after a video was sent to her against her will. The court heard, and the judge agreed, that she received the video “innocently” from a man she knew only by his first name. She deleted it immediately when she realised what it contained.
