As Schools, Pubs And Restaurants Close In The North, What Now For The Republic?

Northern Ireland will implement a four-week 'circuit breaker' lockdown in an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19. Pubs and restaurants will close for the duration, with the exception of takeaways, while schools will close for two weeks. Meanwhile in the Republic, a decision will also be made on whether to impose further restrictions in border counties. How worried should we be in the south about cross-border spread? We spoke to Aoife Moore, political correspondent with the Irish Examiner, and Professor Anthony Staines, Chair of Health Systems in the School of Nursing and Human Sciences at Dublin City University.
