Revolut Says It Now Has 1 Million Irish Customers, But Why Is It So Popular?

Financial technology company Revolut says it now has one million customers in Ireland, compared to half a million just six months ago. It is not known how many of these customers are active users, or how many are using free or premium accounts. This huge growth nonetheless poses a threat to the traditional banks, many of which have outdated IT systems that regularly experience outages, and are therefore struggling to compete with Revolut's easy-to-use app. Charlie Weston, personal finance editor of the Irish Independent, joined us to discuss the reasons why Revolut has revolutionised banking.
