Restaurants And Gastropubs Will Close Before New Year's Eve

The Taoiseach has confirmed that stricter COVID-19 measures will be implemented before New Year's Eve due to concern over the rising number of cases. Restaurants and gastropubs are expected to close and inter-county travel will be discouraged, while visits will be limited to one household. Anthony Staines, Chair of Health Systems in the School of Nursing and Human Sciences at Dublin City University, joined us to discuss this. Angela Ruttledge, co-owner of Monk's Green and Olive's Room restaurants in Dublin, and Padraig Cribben, chief executive of the Vintners Federation of Ireland, were also with us to talk about the impact on the hospitality sector.
