Restaurant Bookings Surge As Hospitality Sector Reopens
The hospitality industry is trying to make up for lost time as restaurants, gastropubs and hotels reopen from today.
Restaurants have seen a surge in bookings in recent days, but it's a different story for hotels as they cannot welcome inter-county guests until 18 December due to travel restrictions.
Paul Flynn, chef and owner of The Tannery in Dungarvan, Co. Waterford, Tim Fenn, Chief Executive of the Irish Hotels Federation and Marion O'Gorman, founder of Champion Green, joined us to discuss this.
We were also joined by Pete Lunn, head of the ESRI's Behavioural Research Unit and a member of NPHET's behavioural change subgroup, who spoke about how people are likely to behave now that Level 5 restrictions have been lifted.
