Reopening of Primary Schools & Managing Your Child's Mental Health

There have been increasing calls to get kids back to education as early as June despite the government's road-map of the easing of restrictions not looking to open schools again until September. But will parents be happy to send their kids back to school if there is still so much uncertainty when it comes to their safety and how will social distancing measures be implemented if they do go back earlier than expected? Susan was joined by Áine Lynch - CEO of the National Parents Council to discuss. & We have all heard the advice on social and physical distancing such as hand washing, cough etiquette, and cocooning; but as we move from the middle of the crisis to what’s being called a 'new normal', how do we make sure our children and their mental health is looked after? Colman Noctor, Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist joined Susan to talk about how the current crisis - with so much fear and uncertainty - has affected our children's mental well-being and to discuss how we can better explain the situation to our kids when so much of their lives has been turned upside down.
