How To Recognise The Signs Of Breast Cancer

Around 2,500 people in Ireland are diagnosed with breast cancer every year. It is most commonly seen in women but can also occur in men. There is a one in eight lifetime risk of developing breast cancer. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and at a time when treatment of other illnesses is often missed or delayed due to COVID-19, it's never been more important to know the signs of breast cancer and attend for screening when called. Dr Doireann O'Leary, health blogger and GP with MyCorkGP, joined us for our weekly medical slot to discuss the symptoms and causes of breast cancer and how to reduce your risk.
