R.E.M. Consider Legal Action To Stop Trump Using Their Songs

R.E.M. may have split up in 2011, but they have come back together to consider pursuing legal action against Donald Trump to stop him using their music on the campaign trail. Trump used two of the band's songs, 'Everybody Hurts' and 'Losing My Religion', at a recent rally in Milwaukee, prompting bassist Mike Mills to tweet that R.E.M. were "exploring all legal avenues". We are aware that the President* @realDonaldTrump continues to use our music at his rallies. We are exploring all legal avenues to prevent this, but if that’s not possible please know that we do not condone the use of our music by this fraud and con man. — Mike Mills ❄️?⛄️ (@m_millsey) January 15, 2020 John Caddell and Dee Reddy discussed this in our weekly music slot, and also looked at some election songs that have popped up here in Ireland.
