Pubs Get Green Light To Reopen Amid Concern Over Rise In Dublin And Limerick Cases

Pubs that don't serve food have finally been given the green light to open, with a date set for 21 September. Social distancing measures will be implemented and there will be a 'table service only' requirement. Customer records will also be retained to facilitate contact tracing. However, there is speculation that Dublin and Limerick could be heading for lockdown due to a rise in COVID-19 cases, which could impact on plans to reopen pubs in these counties. Daniel McConnell, political editor of the Irish Examiner, and Donall O'Keeffe, Chief Executive of the Licensed Vintners Association, joined us to discuss this.
