Publicans Plea To Be Given The Chance To Open Their Doors
Legislation is being published which allow Gardaí to close down establishments found to be in breach of COVID-19 restrictions.
However, groups representing the Gardaí say these new powers are confusing the public as well as officers themselves.
Antoinette Cunningham, General Secretary of the Association of Garda Sergeants and Inspectors, joined us to discuss this uncertainty.
We also spoke to Alan Gielty, owner of Gielty's Bar and Restaurant in Achill, Co. Mayo, and Mary Brady Sharpe, who runs Brady's Bar in Waterford, about the challenges they have faced during the pandemic.
