Policing The Lockdown: The Challenges Facing An Garda Síochána

There were violent scenes in Dublin on Saturday as anti-lockdown protests took place on Grafton Street. Video footage emerged showing a man shooting fireworks at Gardaí, who are concerned about further protests being planned for this month, including one on St Patrick's Day. Meanwhile Gardaí had to disperse an estimated 200 people gathered in St Joseph's Cemetery in Rathkeale, Co. Limerick yesterday. The crowd had brought tables, chairs, food and refreshments. What are the challenges for Gardaí trying to enforce public health guidelines? We spoke to Stephen Breen, crime editor of the Irish Sun, and security analyst Declan Power about this.
