Passport Office Closure During Level 5 Leads To Delays And Missing Documents

People whose passports have expired have not been able to renew them, due to the suspension of most of the Passport Service's operations during Level 5 restrictions. According to a story in thejournal.ie today, parents who had to submit their own passports as part of a passport application for their child could be waiting as long as six months for their documents to be returned. Anyone who had to submit additional documentation as part of their passport application process may not have these documents returned to them at present either. Sean Murray, who covered the story for thejournal.ie, and Fianna Fáil Senator Aidan Davitt discussed these issues on The Last Word.
