Owen Denvir This week's One To Watch is Belfast born singer/songwriter Owen Denvir. Owen has just released his single This Could Be Love. The single is taken from his new EP Stones. It's about suddenly seeing a friend differently after dropping your guard during a weird dream. This release is the second in a trilogy of EP's under a common theme that will form Owen's debut album. Sticks, Stones and Bones encompass Freud's theory of personality. Owen says: "The album and EP trilogy idea is based on Sigmund Freud's theory that personality is a sum of 3 parts: the Id (acting on raw impulse), the Ego (being terrified of consequences) and the Superego (the balance between the two). The first EP Sticks deals with loss and delusion and the impulsive decisions we make while in the spell of love. The second, Stones, is a more confident but brash take on love. Finally, Bones is when you have the balance between the two, which mostly leads to more healthy relationships." View this post on Instagram My new EP is out TOMORROW ?? However, with no drums at home he found unique ways to make the sounds he needed. Household items including pots, pans and even a lamp make an appearance in some tracks! He also uses voice, audio glitches and vocoder to create samples.
