Outrage After RTÉ Crew Granted Access To Film 'The Rotunda' While Partners Were Refused Access

There was plenty of anger evident this week after a crew from RTÉ were allowed to film 'The Rotunda' while partners were told to wait outside due to Covid-19 restrictions. [audio mp3="https://media.radiocms.net/uploads/2021/09/10181119/WEEK-TRENDING.mp3"][/audio] 'The Rotunda' series shows families as they welcome their newborn babies into the world. Linda Kelly, a campaigner for maternity rights took to Twitter to slam the fact that the show was allowed to continue while partners were told to wait in cars as women gave birth, 'Let that sink in. A TV show was considered more important than providing safe, compassionate care. #BetterMaternityCare.' Helen Vaughan, Psychotherapist Maynooth Counselling and Eoghan Tomas McDermott, Managing Director, The Communications Clinic joined The Last Word to discuss this and other trending stories from the week.
