New Statistics Show Most Reported Rape Cases Don’t Make It To Court

Just 13% of rapes reported to gardai result in a prosecution. That’s according to stats released to Newstalk under freedom of Information. Nearly 1,600 were reported to Gardai in 2018 and 2019 but only 215 prosecutions for rape during those two years.
