"I never believed I'd be sitting here with you today"

When Siobhan Jordan suffered a cardiac arrest, she didn't think she'd survive, but thanks to an Irish Red Cross volunteer, she has made a full recovery, and will happily tell the story. The Irish Red Cross have launched their strategy for the next five years today. Minister for Defence Paul Kehoe was in attendance as the plan was set out - a plan which focuses on what the Irish Red Cross can do to better support first aid volunteers who provide first aid cover all over the country every week. To highlight the importance of these volunteers I’m joined by aforementioned Siobhan, as well as Irish Cross volunteer Ciaran McDonnell, who saved Siobhan’s life. National Secretary and Chair of Irish Red Cross' Strategy Development Group Barry o'Donovan also gave some insight into the scope of the organisation's work.
