Movies and Booze on Moncrieff

Every Friday at 3.20pm, Sean is joined in studio by our movie reviewer and booze expert to discuss the latest cinema releases and a selection of beer or wine. Each week in a relaxed and casual environment the three chat about movies over some beer or wine just like being in a pub or at a dinner party! Movies and Booze: #Chilledredwines

For Movies and Booze this week Tom Dunne was joined by Arlene Hunt, Mick O'Connell, and Annette Freeman. This week's wines with thanks to Marks and Spencer included: Combel la Serre Pur Fruit - This is a Malbec from the Cahors region in the South West of France. The original home of the grape before Argentina stole the mantle. This is a delightfully refreshing example, particularly when chilled, and shows blackberry and violet aromas, the hallmarks of this grape variety. This wine is done in the Beaujolais style and sees no oak to keep it light and bright. Craven Cinsaut - By Mick & Jeanine Craven in Stellenbosch. Cinsaut was once the workhorse grape for South African fortified wine production. When young the vines give a huge bounty of average quality fruit. As the vines age the complexity of the aromas go up as the harvest size goes down. This is a complex, but light & refreshing example. Delicious out of the fridge and it’s low alcohol makes it perfect for any occasion.
