How To Manage Covid-19 Tensions In Your Relationships

Living through a global pandemic has it's difficulties to say the least, but for some, differing opinions are causing chaos in relationships. On Mind Yourself Now with Dermot and Dave, clinical psychotherapist and author of the bestselling 'The Positive Habit', Fiona Brennan had some advice for a listener who has seen issues in their marriage following on from lockdown. Hey lads, I’m looking for a bit of advice. My wife and I have totally different views on what to do with the whole Coronavirus thing. I want to stay at home and go on a ‘staycation’ but she’s adamant that we should go on our holiday away which we had booked. I know it was a lot of money but I just don’t feel comfortable going away at the moment. Similarly, she’s going out and about and meeting friends but I find myself in a panic whenever it comes to it. I don’t want to be a boring stick in the mud but the thoughts of going to a café or a restaurant freaks me out and as for going abroad? Not a chance. It’s causing a LOT of tension between us and I don’t know what to do. What do your listeners think? Fiona joined the lads with some tips on finding a balance between the two differing viewpoints and how this couple can get a break away they're both happy with.
