Is Malahide turning into Templebar?

The nouveau riche capital of Ireland, Malahide, is up in arms over the pedestrianisation of their busiest thoroughfare, New Street. For yachting Malahide the fallout has been bigger than Saipan, with neighbours and families split down the middle. Most Irish communities would welcome less traffic and pedestrianisation but not this leafy suburb, famous for its brash pop stars, footballer’s wives and Protestant old money.
