According to the latest figures from the CSO, loneliness has almost doubled in the last year, increasing from 6.8% in April 2020 to 13.1% in February 2021. The Loneliness Taskforce is a coalition of organisations and individuals who work to address loneliness. Sean Moynihan CEO of Alone and Bill Murphy an older Person and member of Alone joined Kieran on The Hard Shoulder today. Bill got in touch with the show to discuss how lonely he has felt over the past year during the lockdown and how he deals with the issue.
