Liveline Callers Up In Arms About TV's 'Normal People', Comparing It To "A Porno Movie"

The new TV adaptation of the Sally Rooney novel Normal People, about the relationship between two teenagers from Sligo, has been causing quite a stir. RTÉ's Liveline yesterday received calls from listeners who objected to the show's sexual content. One caller named Mary likened it to a "porno movie", while another named Tommy expressed concerns about "the national broadcaster promoting fornication".
