Listener email: '...I have been told I would not be offered position if a strong female candidate applies'
Listener email: '...I am in the process of interviewing for a CEO post. I have been told (privately) that I am a very strong candidate, and the only way I would not be offered the position is that if a strong female candidate applies. Note I said strong candidate, not ‘better’. Put simply, I would have to be significantly better than a woman if one were to apply. My view on this? Well, though I will be upset not to get a job I think I would be good at, I have no problem with it. We need to address the balance, and if that means people like me could be collateral damage, then that is ok. We’ll have a better world with more women in higher positions.' What do you think? Andrea chats to Peter Cosgrove, future of work expert, and hears from listeners
