Listener email: 'My 5-year-old got very upset that we eat animals now she never wants to eat meat again'

Listener Lorna: 'Ciara – wondering where people stand on telling their children what meat is or where it comes from. My 5 year old’s been asking lots of questions recently. Just the other day she was asking me about her chicken nuggets and I decided it was time to answer her honestly but when I told her she was really shocked and got very upset that we eat animals. Now she says she never wants to eat meat again. I’m thinking now maybe I shouldn’t have told her the truth, or at least not until she’s older.  I’m worried she’ll just stop eating meat and fish altogether. How did you listeners deal with this?'
