What Lifestyle Changes Can You Make To Prevent Cancer?

According to the National Cancer Registry, almost a third of cancers in Ireland could be preventable if people made changes to their lifestyle. Around 6,200 cancer diagnoses a year are attributable to 11 modifiable risk factors. Smoking is the number one risk factor in Ireland, being responsible for 13% of all cancers. Dr Doireann O'Leary, health blogger and Cork GP, joined us for our weekly medical slot to discuss some of the other preventable cancer risk factors, such as obesity, alcohol, sunburn, infections and the oral contraceptive pill.
