Leaving Cert students due to sit their exams in 2021 are under an "unsustainable amount of anxiety and pressure", according to the Irish Second-Level Students' Union. The 2020 exams were cancelled and replaced with calculated grades, and there is uncertainty and stress among students who are working towards next year's Leaving Cert without knowing whether they will face a traditional exam or continuous assessment. Meanwhile the OECD is due to publish a review which has found that the Leaving Cert is "too narrow and rigid".
