This Kildare Lady Can Hold Her Breath For The Length Of Bohemian Rhapsody

The song that is, not the movie Holding your breath for as long as you can underwater is something we've all tried at some point in our lives and I'd say that 60-120 seconds is a fair estimate as to how long the average person lasts. Now imagine being able to do it for 360 seconds? Well that's how long freediver Claire Walsh is able to stay submerged and I'm gasping for air just thinking about it! The Leixlip native will this September become Ireland's first ever competitive freediver when she competes at the AIDA World Freediving Championships in Villefranche sur Mer, France.   View this post on Instagram   Registered. Fee paid. Flights booked. . . . This September I will be the first Irish woman to represent Ireland at the freediving World Championships. ?? ☘️ . . Walsh reveals why for her, meditation is such a huge part of it saying, "to get up to 4, 5, 6, (minutes) - it's a big mental thing".
