"We just want a date set..."

When allowed to officially re-open, wet pubs seem to be facing the choice between lower profitability and having to turn customers away. The draft Government guidelines, which were drawn up in conjunction with Fáilte Ireland, have been circulated to vintners' groups this weekend. They make it clear that drinkers will either have to book a table in advance or face being separated at twice the distance from other patrons. The proposed rules, it’s important to note, have yet to be signed off by Ministers. Michael O’Donovan, owner of The Castle Inn in Cork City Centre, and Cork City Chair of the VFI, and Paul Moynihan, incoming President of the VFI, and owner of Moynihan’s Bar in Wicklow joined Kieran on Monday's edition of The Hard Shoulder to give their views.
