Jon Bon Jovi Claims Bono's Childhood Was Marred By Orangemen Threats

Jon Bon Jovi has claimed that Bono's childhood was marred by sectarian violence in his neighbourhood. Speaking on the Armchair Expert podcast, Bon Jovi said the U2 frontman's upbringing was very different from his own. "I never had the Orangemen walking through my neighbourhood saying, you know, get the Catholic kid and beat him up." His comments were widely ridiculed, with Irish people on social media pointing out that Bono grew up in north Dublin and was therefore not a victim of such threats. Roe McDermott and Eoghan Tomás McDermott joined us for The Week Trending to discuss this story and the US vice presidential debate, during which Mike Pence repeatedly interrupted Kamala Harris.
