Jeremy Kyle Refuses To Appear Before Reality TV Inquiry After Death Of Guest

Jeremy Kyle has turned down a request to appear before MPs after the death of a guest on his show. The presenter's representatives told the committee that he would not be appearing as part of their inquiry into reality TV. The Jeremy Kyle Show was cancelled by ITV last month after guest Steve Dymond died shortly after filming. His death, like the recent deaths of two former Love Island contestants, has raised questions about the duty of care reality TV shows have for their participants. As the face of the show, does Jeremy Kyle have a duty to appear before the committee? Alison Healy and Jennifer Gannon discussed this in our weekly TV slot. They also talked about the latest going-on in Love Island, and why there is an obsession with 'feel-bad' TV. Listen to the interview in full by pressing the play button on this page.
