'I've Met Some Amazing Irish People Over Here': Vicky Phelan Speaks About Her American Support Bubble

In November, campaigner Vicky Phelan announced that her cancer was growing back slowly and that she would be travelling to Maryland in the United States for experimental treatment. The Limerick native, who opened the door for hundreds of women caught up in the cervical check scandal, will spend six months away from her family in the hopes of prolonging her life. Speaking to Dermot and Dave from her apartment in the US, Vicky explained the decision to travel, the emotion of leaving her children in Ireland and how Irish people in the States have rallied behind her.
