Irish Actor To Star In New TV Show About The World's First Astronauts

A brand new series is launching on Disney+ which takes a look at the famous 'Mercury Seven' who are best known as the original astronauts. The Mercury Seven established the job role as 'astronaut' as being something that was possible and enamored decades of young people towards space travel. While Ireland is yet to really get to grips with space travel, one person who has been fighting for her place in the skies is Niamh Shaw.  Niamh Shaw is an engineer, scientist and was recently voted one of Ireland's leading science communicators and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and maths). She joined Dermot and Dave to explain how the Mercury Seven inspired her to pursue her dreams in science and why we need to get rid of the concept that it's all just about lab coats and glasses. And there's another Irish connection. Appearing in The Right Stuff is actor Colin O'Donoghue and he hopped on the line with the lads to chat about his role as Gordo Cooper.
